EDMONTON — Long-snapper Taylor Inglis of the Edmonton Eskimos announced his retirement Thursday.
The six-foot-three, 252-pound Inglis spent seven seasons in the CFL, including six with Edmonton. He captured a Grey Cup ring with the Eskimos in 2005.
The 28-year-old appeared in 123 career games with Edmonton and Winnipeg.
"It’s not often you get to live out your dream, but I’ve been able to do that playing for the Edmonton Eskimos," Inglis said in a statement. "I’m so grateful to my family, friends, teammates and the entire Eskimo organization for their support during my time with the club."
An Edmonton native, Inglis played junior football with the Edmonton Wildcats in 2004 after spending time with the University of Alberta Golden Bears. Inglis’s father, Gerry, also served as a long-snapper with Winnipeg in 1978-’79.
"Taylor was a consummate Eskimo," head coach Kavis Reed said. "As a native Edmontonian, I know it meant a great deal for him to play for his hometown team.
"The entire organization wishes him the very best for the future."
