TORONTO (May 15, 2013) Four teams, one champion. With the Canadian Hockey League championship title up for grabs, Sportsnet heads to Saskatoon to deliver exclusive multiplatform coverage of the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup. As the home of Canadian junior hockey coverage, Sportsnet will broadcast every game of the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup, beginning when the London Knights take on the Saskatoon Blades on Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West, Pacific, sportsnet.ca, Sportsnet 590 THE FAN and Sportsnet 960 THE FAN (full broadcast details below).

 

The four teams competing in the round robin championship tournament include the three championship teams from the Canadian Hockey League; the Portland Winterhawks from the Western Hockey League, the London Knights from the Ontario Hockey League and the Halifax Mooseheads from Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Additionally, the tournament host team Saskatoon Blades will compete for the Memorial Cup which will be presented for the 95th time. The championship consists of six round robin games from Friday, May 17 through Wednesday May 22, with the leader earning a bye to the final on Sunday, May 26. The second and third place teams after round robin play will compete in the semifinal match on Friday, May 24, with a tie-breaker game scheduled for Thursday, May 25 to determine the semifinal teams if needed.

 

For the entire championship, HOCKEY CENTRAL host Daren Millard and analysts Nick Kypreos and Damien Cox will be live on location at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon to provide pre-game, intermission and post-game analysis. Play-by-play commentator RJ Broadhead and analyst Sam Cosentino will call each game, alongside host Gene Principe.
