Canada's Roger Sloan took a huge step toward returning to the PGA Tour by winning the Korn Ferry Tour's Utah Championship on Sunday.
The 36-year-old Sloan, from Merritt, B.C., birdied his final two holes to finish at 24 under for the four-round tournament, one stroke better than American Christopher Petefish.
Sloan's approach on the par-4 18th landed within three feet of the hole and he tapped in for the win. He shot 5-under 66 on Sunday.
Sloan, who lost his PGA Tour card after the 2021-22 season, is now 27th on the Korn Ferry points list this season.
The top 30 at season's end graduate to the PGA Tour.
There are five events left on the Korn Ferry schedule this season.
It was Sloan's second win on the Korn Ferry Tour. He prevailed in a playoff at the 2014 Nova Scotia Open.
Sloan has two runner-up finishes in 129 career PGA Tour events.
Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ont., entered the week third on the Korn Ferry points list and has guaranteed himself a return to the PGA Tour next season.
