SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. – Morgan Frost scored two goals and set up another as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds doubled up the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-2 on Saturday in Game 2 of their Ontario Hockey League championship series.
Barrett Hayton and Jack Kopacka also scored and Conor Timmins added two assists as Sault Ste. Marie bounced back from an overtime loss Thursday night to even the best-of-seven, second-round series at a game apiece.
Frost’s second of the game was a short-handed, empty-net goal 19:46 into the third.
MacKenzie Entwistle and Brandon Saigeon scored for the Bulldogs, who will host Game 3 on Monday.
Greyhounds goaltender Matthew Villalta made 36 saves. Hamilton’s Kaden Fulcher stopped 30 shots.
The winner of the series will claim the J. Ross Robertson Cup as league champions and advance to the Memorial Cup.
