Erie lands Gaunce from Bulls for Harper, picks

The Erie Otters have acquired forward Brendan Gaunce from the Belleville Bulls in exchange for Stephen Harper and draft picks, the team announced Monday.

Gaunce has played all four years of his Ontario Hockey League career with the Bulls, serving as captain for the past two seasons. He was the second overall pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection and has tallied 82 goals and 108 assists in 215 career games.

He was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the first round of the 2012 NHL draft.

In return the Bulls get forward Stephen Harper and four draft picks. Harper was the Otters first round pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection and has recorded 87 points in 152 games career games with the team.

Belleville also receives Ottawa’s second-round pick in 2014, London’s second-round pick in 2016, Kingston’s third-round pick in 2015, and Erie’s third-round pick in 2016.
