WHL Playoffs: Estephan scores OT winner as Broncos top Silvertips

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. – Giorgio Estephan scored the winner at 9:27 in overtime as the Swift Current Broncos topped the Everett Silvertips 4-3 to even the Western Hockey League final at one game apiece on Saturday.

Matteo Gennaro, Colby Sissons and Tyler Steenbergen also scored for the Broncos.

Matt Fonteyne, Martin Fasko-Rudas and Riley Sutter answered for the Silvertips.

Stuart Skinner kicked out 40 shots for Swift Current, while Carter Hart made 34 saves for Everett.

The Broncos went 0 for 2 on the power play and the Silvertips went 0 for 3 with the man advantage.

Everett hosts Swift Current in Game 3 of the best-of-seven series for the WHL’s Ed Chynoweth Cup on Tuesday. The winner will advance to the Memorial Cup.
