The Colorado Avalanche are bringing back defenceman Ryan Graves on a one-year deal, the club announced Monday.

The Yarmouth, N.S., native suited up for 26 games in an Avalanche sweater last season, posting five points and skating an average of 11:06 minutes per night.

Graves, 24, spent the past three seasons in the AHL — that run split between the Hartford Wolf Pack and San Antonio Rampage. He also logged 32 games for AHL Colorado this season along with his NHL appearances.

He was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the fourth round back in 2013.
