Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Brent Seabrook will not travel with the team to the Western Conference hub in Edmonton for its play-in series against the Oilers.
Seabrook returned to the ice for Chicago’s Phase 3 training camp after having surgery on his right shoulder as well as both hips back in December. On Friday, the 34-year-old admitted that he didn’t feel comfortable after taking part in camp and wants to focus on being ready for next season.
The Richmond, B.C., native had four points through 32 games and was averaging a career-low 18:09 minutes per game.
The Blackhawks will travel to Edmonton on Sunday and play an exhibition game against the St. Louis Blues on July 29. The club will then open its best-of-five series with Edmonton on Aug. 1.
