Blues sign winger Patrick Maroon to 1-year deal

Patrick Maroon comments on signing with the St. Louis Blues.

The St. Louis Blues have signed winger Patrick Maroon to a one-year contract worth $1.75 million.

Maroon spent the past season with the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers, scoring 17 goals and a career-high 43 points.

The 30-year-old had 27 goals in 2016-17, playing alongside Connor McDavid.

He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2007 (161st overall), but was traded to the Anaheim Ducks where he debuted in 2011-12.

The signing sees the St. Louis, Mo., native join his hometown team.
