Bruins’ Marchand on encounter with Leafs’ Komarov: ‘He’s cute’

Watch as Brad Marchand takes a pass from Torey Krug, drives to the net and beats Frederik Andersen with a backhand to open the scoring of Game 1.

Brad Marchand is an elite pest.

The Boston Bruins forward is that guy you hate to compete against, but probably love to play alongside.

In Thursday night’s Game 1 of a first-round matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Marchand added to his reputation.

Just ask Leafs counterpart Leo Komarov:

Asked about the … um … encounter with Komarov following the game, Marchand said this: “He keeps trying to get close to me. I don’t know if he has a thing for me or what. He’s cute.”

To add insult, Marchand added a goal and assist in the Bruins’ 5-1 drubbing over the Leafs.

It’s not the first time that the 29-year-old Marchand has put the moves on Komarov. This happened during a contest in November.

Can’t wait to see where this relationship goes over the course of the next week.
