Canadiens trade forward Lars Eller to Capitals for pair of picks

Watch as Gary Bettman announced two trades at the NHL Draft, both involving the Montreal Canadiens as they move Lars Eller and gain Andrew Shaw for picks.

The Montreal Canadiens traded forward Lars Eller to the Washington Capitals for second-round picks in 2017 and 2018.

Simultaneous to the Eller trade, the Habs acquired Andrew Shaw from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Eller had 13 goals and 13 assists in 79 games this season in Montreal.

The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract that comes with a $3.5-million salary cap hit.
