Vancouver Canucks phenom Elias Pettersson has been named NHL rookie of the month for October.

The 19-year-old Swede led all first-year players with seven goals and 10 points in the first month of the season despite missing six games due to a concussion.

Selected with the fifth-overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, Pettersson is a big reason the Canucks are off to such a hot start to the season. Vancouver sits atop the Pacific Division with 16 points through 14 games played.
