Canucks will miss Alex Burrows, the likable everyman’s journeyman

Sportsnet.ca veteran hockey writer Iain MacIntyre joined Satiar Shah and Jawn Jang on The Playbook to remember the personality and performance highlights of Alex Burrows, a hard-working grinder who worked his way up from the East Coast Hockey League.

A well-liked teammate and locker room leader, Burrows set a tone others emulated and also helped elevate his teammates to star status.

Returning to Vancouver for the first time since being traded to Ottawa, Burrows will be business on the ice tonight and he’s not being honest when he says it won’t be emotional, MacIntyre said.
