Capitals sign 1st-round pick McMichael to 3-year, entry-level deal

The Washington Capitals have come to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with Connor McMichael, their first-round pick in June’s NHL draft, the team announced Friday.

The deal will see McMichael, who was selected 25th overall, earn a salary of $832,500 and will include a $92,500 signing bonus each year, yielding an AAV of $925,000.

The 18-year-old forward from Ajax, Ont., had 72 points in 67 games with the London Knights of the OHL last season.
