Capitals sign forward Axel Jonsson-Fjallby to entry-level contract

The Washington Capitals have signed forward Axel Jonsson-Fjallby to a three-year entry-level contract set to begin in the 2018-19 season, the team announced on Wednesday.

Jonsson-Fjallby registered seven goals and nine assists in 42 games while playing with the Djurgardens IF in the Swedish Hockey League and won a silver medal with Team Sweden in the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship.

The 20-year-old was originally drafted by the Capitals in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
