Capitals sign Garnet Hathaway to four-year, $6M contract

Watch as Garnet Hathaway and Brenden Dillon have a spirited tilt near the end of the Calgary Flames loss to the San Jose Sharks.

The Washington Capitals were already among the most physical teams in the league and they added even more grit Monday by signing Garnet Hathaway to a four-year, $6 million contract.

Hathaway had spent his entire NHL career with the Calgary Flames and is coming off his best season.

The winger led the Flames with 200 hits in 2018-19 to go along with his 11 goals and 56 penalty minutes.

Hathaway, whose cap hit amounts to $1.5 million annually, is now one of 10 players on the Caps locked up through the 2022-23 season.
