The Arizona Coyotes have signed centre David Ullstrom to a one-year, two-way deal, the team announced on Tuesday.

“David is a big, strong center who is an excellent skater,” said general manager John Chayka in a statement. “He has previous NHL experience and will provide us with additional depth at the center position.”

Ullstrom, 29, scored six goals and racked up 30 points in 47 games with HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League this past season. In 49 career NHL contests with the New York Islanders from 2011-13, the Jönköping, Sweden native totalled 13 points and 12 penalty minutes.

Ullstrom was originally drafted by the Islanders in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
