Devils ink Jimmy Hayes to one-year contract after PTO

The New Jersey Devils signed forward Jimmy Hayes to a one-year, one-way deal, the club announced Sunday.

Hayes, who joined the Devils’ camp on a professional tryout in August, will earn $700,000 on the new pact.

The Boston, Mass., native last suited up for the Boston Bruins, staying with the club for the past two seasons, during which time he posted 15 goals and 34 points in 133 appearances. His most productive season in the big leagues came in 2014-15, when Hayes posted 19 goals and 35 points for the Florida Panthers.
