The Calgary Flames have assigned defenceman Dalton Prout to AHL Stockton for a conditioning stint.

Prout has largely been a healthy scratch this season, having appeared in one game for the Flames.

The stint will allow him to get some ice time with the Heat while keeping him off the waiver wire.

The 28-year-old had to have had agreed to being sent down without waivers, and his time with Stockton can last up to 14 days at the most.

He was acquired by the Flames in exchange for goaltender Eddie Lack from the New Jersey Devils this past off-season.
