Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Radko Gudas has a hearing on Wednesday with the Department of NHL Player Safety for a high stick on Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov.
The play in question happened with a little more than four minutes left in the third period of the Lightning’s 5-2 win over the Flyers Tuesday night when Gudas brought his stick down on the head of Kucherov as Philadelphia was clearing its zone.
Gudas, of course, has a history of suspensions – the Flyers blue-liner has been suspended four times since December 2015, the last ban coming in November 2017 when he got 10 games for a brutal slash on Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault.
