Full selection order for 2018 NHL Draft released by league

Rasmus Dahlin joins Tim and Sid to talk about going through the NHL Combine and dealing with the massive about of hype around being the potential number one pick in the NHL Draft.

We’re one week away from the 2018 NHL Draft and the league unveiled its complete selection order Friday afternoon.

American Airlines Center, the home of the Dallas Stars, is where this year’s draft takes place with the first round taking place the evening of Friday, June 22 and rounds two through seven happening Saturday, June 23.

The Buffalo Sabres hold the No. 1 pick after winning the NHL Draft Lottery in April. They are expected to take standout Swedish defenceman Rasmus Dahlin. The Carolina Hurricanes are slated to select second and Russian forward Andrei Svechnikov is a likely candidate to go in the No. 2 spot.

Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland currently holds the most picks in the draft with 11, while the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets have the fewest picks with only four and five, respectively, in seven rounds.

The New York Rangers are the only team currently with three first-round picks. The Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks each have two first-rounders.
