Golden Knights’ Fleury, Jets’ Wheeler, Penguins’ Crosby named NHL’s 3 stars

Jets captain Blake Wheeler scored the third hat trick of his career and topped it off with an empty net goal for good measure, making it four against the Blue Jackets.

NEW YORK – Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, Winnipeg Jets right-wing Blake Wheeler and Pittsburgh Penguins centre Sidney Crosby have been named the NHL three stars of the week.

Fleury went 3-0-0 with a 0.33 goals-against average, .987 save percentage and two shutouts as the Golden Knights improved their overall winning streak to four games to sit third in the Pacific Division.

Wheeler finished the week tied for first among scorers with eight points (five goals, three assists) in three games as the Central Division-leading Jets won two of three contests.

Crosby had three goals and five assists in three games as the Penguins gained five of a possible six points to hold the first wild-card position in the Eastern Conference.
