Notice how teams were hesitant to trade their first-round 2015 draft picks yesterday?

Two words: Connor McDavid.

While prospects and third-round picks got passed around like currency during Wednesday’s NHL trade deadline, hockey’s greatest future consideration showed the world why he’s money.

The Erie Otters cruised over OHL counterpart Plymouth Whalers 11-2, setting a season-high for goals scored, but it was the individual effort of McDavid that should go as viral as a @strombone1 emoticon.

A slam-dunk to go No. 1 overall in 2015, the 17-year-old McDavid reminds Sidney Crosby of Sidney Crosby, and reminds this poor Whalers defenceman to fasten his jock a little tighter next time.

Wow.
