Forward Jannik Hansen was dealt from the Vancouver Canucks to the San Jose Sharks Tuesday evening, but he’ll have to wait a few days before he debuts with his new team—and against his old one.
Hansen has been delayed by visa paperwork, which sets back his arrival in San Jose and keeps him out of the lineup for Thursday’s matchup against the Canucks.
Hansen was initially expected to be in the lineup to play against Vancouver, the team with which he’d spent his entire career up until Tuesday’s trade.
Hansen will now need to wait another month before facing his old squad, as the Sharks visit Vancouver on April 2 before hosting the Canucks two nights later.
