Islanders sign defenceman Dennis Seidenberg to one-year deal

The New York Islanders have signed pending free agent defenceman Dennis Seidenberg to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million.

Seidenberg had five goals and 22 points in 73 games with the Islanders this past season, after joining the team on a one-year deal worth $1 million.

The 35-year-old has played in 831 career NHL games, totalling 44 goals and 246 points.

He won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011.
