Islanders sign Wahlstrom to three-year, entry-level contract

The New York Islanders have signed Oliver Wahlstrom to a three-year, entry-level contract that kicks in at the start of the 2019-20 season.

Wahlstrom, 18, just wrapped up his freshman season at Boston College, scoring eight goals and 11 assists in 36 games.

The six-foot-one, 207-pound forward was the Islanders’ first-round pick (11th overall) in 2018 and helped lead the United States to a silver medal at the 2019 world junior championship, where he scored two goals and two assists in seven games.
