Jets sign defenceman Josh Morrissey to 2-year deal worth $6.3 million

Newly signed Winnipeg Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey discusses his excitement to get back on the ice, his relief to finally get the deal signed, and why a bridge deal made the most sense for him and the club.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Josh Morrissey to a two-year contract worth $6.3 million.

Morrissey was a restricted free agent coming off his entry-level deal.

The 23-year-old had seven goals and 26 points in 81 games this past season, his second as a full-time NHLer.

He was drafted with the 13th-overall pick of the 2013 NHL Draft.
