The Los Angeles Kings have signed defenceman Kurtis MacDermid to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Friday.

The contract carries an average annual cap hit of $875,000.
MacDermid played in a career-high 45 games with the Kings this season, putting up eight points. He has 13 points in three seasons with Los Angeles.
A Sauble Beach, Ont., native signed with the Kings as an undrafted free agent in 2012. The 26-year-old has appeared in 194 career games with the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League, scoring 16 goals and 57 points.
