Kings sign veteran goalie Peter Budaj to one-year deal

San Jose got goals from Brent Burns, Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton to top Los Angeles 6-1 in a chippy affair.

The Los Angeles Kings signed veteran goalie Peter Budaj to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday.

Budaj spent last season with the St. John’s IceCaps in the AHL where he went 0-9-6 with a .888 save percentage and 3.55 goals-against average in 19 appearances.

The 30-year-old is 124-107-36 with a .903 save percentage and 2.76 GAA in his career, which has been split between the Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens.
