Leafs sign defenceman Marincin to one-year deal

Former Oiler Martin Marincin (Jason Franson/CP)

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed Martin Marincin to a one-year deal Thursday.

The 23-year-old RFA defenceman was acquired by Toronto on June 27 in a trade that sent Brad Ross and a 2015 fourth round draft pick to Edmonton.

Marincin has played 85 NHL games over two seasons since being drafted by the Oilers in the second round (46th overall) in 2010. He registered one goal and 11 points during that time.
