Maple Leafs sign centre Nick Shore to one-year contract

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed free agent centre Nick Shore to a one-year, $750,000 contract.

Shore, 26, had three goals and 16 points in 37 KHL games with Metallurg Magnitogorsk last season.

The Denver, Col., native has scored 15 goals and 53 points in 236 NHL games with the Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators and Los Angeles Kings.

He was originally a third-round pick by the Kings in 2011.
