Maple Leafs sign defenceman Martin Marincin to one-year deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenceman Martin Marincin to a one-year contract worth $700,000, the team announced on Saturday.

Marincin, 27, had one goal and four assists in 24 games with the Maple Leafs last season.

A second-round pick (46th overall) of the Edmonton Oilers in 2010, the Kosice, Slovakia native has spent the last four seasons in Toronto, playing 116 regular-season games with the Maple Leafs and 60 with the AHL Marlies.
