The Toronto Maple Leafs re-signed forward Josh Leivo to a two-year contract Thursday.
Leivo, 23, played 12 games with the Leafs and 51 with the AHL’s Marlies last season. He scored five goals during his stint in the NHL while potting 17 goals and 48 points for the Marlies.
In 28 career NHL games, he has seven goals and eight points.
Capfriendly.com reports that Leivo’s deal is one way, with an AAV of $612,500.
His previous contract, an entry-level deal, had expired and the forward was an RFA this offseason. Leivo was drafted by Toronto in the third round of the 2011 NHL draft.
The Leafs also signed 2016 first-overall pick Auston Matthews to a three-year, entry-level contract Thursday.
