The Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League signed defenceman Paul Ranger to a contract.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning 183rd overall in 2002, Ranger played for the club from 2005-09, recording 18 goals and 74 assists in 270 games.
In the 2007-08 season, Ranger hit a career high with 10 goals and 21 assists in 72 games.
