Gotta See It: MLB home runs celebrated by NHL goal horns

Evgeni Malkin's shot rang off the post but set off the goal horn, confusing the Lightning's players and letting Andrew Ebbett score a legitimate goal to put the Penguins up 2-0.

What if the rest of the baseball world followed the lead of the Toronto Blue Jays and blasted a hockey-style goal horn in celebration of a home run?

That’s the concept Youtubist Zee Emm put to action in this 19-minute mash-up, which carefully matches a moonshot from each Major League Baseball club with its nearest National Hockey League equivalent’s goal horn/song.

Fun stuff:

Seeing as not all MLB cities have an NHL team, Emm uses a little creative licence, like pairing some with the closest minor league team. The Atlanta Braves get slapped with the Winnipeg Jets‘ horn because Thrashers, and throwing the Montreal Canadiens horn over some beautiful old Expos footage is a nice touch.
