Edmonton Oilers defenceman Caleb Jones confirmed Friday that he tested positive for COVID-19.

The 23-year-old is not sure how he contracted the virus and says he was asymptomatic while he had it.

Jones was back at Oilers practice Friday after missing the first four days of training camp.

The Texas native appeared in 43 games for the Oilers prior to the season’s pause, scoring four goals and adding five assists.

The Oilers play the Chicago Blackhawks in a best-of-five qualifying round series in Edmonton starting Aug. 1.
