Free agent defenceman Eric Gryba signed a one-year, two-way contract on Tuesday with the Edmonton Oilers.

The 28-year-old Gryba was on a professional tryout with the Oilers after also spending last season in Edmonton. Prior to that, he played three seasons with the Ottawa Senators.

Edmonton has made an effort to bolster its blue line ahead of the 2016-17 season, adding Adam Larsson and Kris Russell.
