Oilers sign third-round pick Samorukov to entry-level deal

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse joined the Jeff Blair show to discuss the upcoming NHL season and his thoughts on the city of Edmonton.

The Edmonton Oilers have signed third-round draft pick Dmitri Samorukov to a three-year entry-level contract.

The 18-year-old played in 67 games for the OHL’s Guelph Storm last season, registering four goals and 16 assists.

A native of Russia, the forward represented his country most recently at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, posting two assists in five games.
