The Florida Panthers have agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract with forward Grigori Denisenko, the team announced Tuesday.
Denisenko, 19, was a first-round pick by the Panthers (15th overall) in 2018. He appeared in 38 games with the KHL’s Yaroslavl Lokomotiv this season, scoring six goals and 12 points.
At the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championships, Denisenko captained Team Russia to a silver medal and led the team in scoring with nine points in seven games.
“Grigori is an exciting, dynamic and highly skilled young forward who has been a top player on the international stage and served as captain of Team Russia at the World Juniors,” general manager Dale Tallon said via a team release.
“We are thrilled for his bright future with the Panthers for years to come.”
