Penguins’ Guentzel suffers concussion after hit from Ristolainen

Jake Guentzel would be shaken up after this hit from Rasmus Ristolainen.

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jake Guentzel has been diagnosed with a concussion following a crushing hit from Rasmus Ristolainen in Tuesday’s clash with the Buffalo Sabres.

Ristolainen earned a major penalty and game misconduct for his hit on Guentzel, which took place in the first period of the Penguins’ 3–1 win.

Guentzel wasn’t the only Penguin who was roughed up Tuesday as Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby lost a few teeth following a high-stick from Evander Kane late in the game.

Crosby had a memorable night regardless, scoring one of the more remarkable goals of his career.
