Pittsburgh Penguins forward Chris Kunitz will likely be hearing from National Hockey League disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan.
With just under four minutes left in the second period, Kunitz checked New York Islanders centreman Josh Bailey into the end boards from behind.
Bailey lay on the ice for several minutes before being helped off the ice and into the locker room by Islanders training staff. The 23-year-old did not return for the start of the third period.
Kunitz received a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
