Penguins sign defenceman Jack Johnson to 5-year contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenceman Jack Johnson to a five-year contract worth $16.25 million.

The 31-year-old has played in the NHL for 13 years, splitting time between the Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets.

He was drafted by the Kings third overall in the 2005 NHL draft.
