Last time we heard from Andrew Fudge, the infrequent Twitterer was lamenting his lost chance at a pair of tickets to the Stanley Cup Final, courtesy the Nashville Predators.

Fudge had entered a contest on Twitter and won, but a failure to check his direct messages meant he missed out on an opportunity to see Game 6 in person. (Tickets for Game 3 were being sold for as much as $7,700 on the secondary market, if you were interested in placing a monetary value on Fudge’s disappointment.)

While some might consider not having to fill out those pesky tax forms a win in and of itself, the Predators took it upon themselves to make things right.

“My wife, she got more mad than me over it,” Fudge told NashvillePredators.com. “She sees how stressed out I was and how superstitious I was during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. She was like, ‘I can’t believe you missed this.'”

The Predators then gave Fudge one more chance to win a prize through Twitter, inviting the fan to opening night on Oct. 10 against Philadelphia – when a conference championship banner will likely be raised.

This time, the offer was noted and accepted.

“I thought that if I can get to a game next year, if it’s not a playoff game, I want to go to Game 1 at home because I want to see the very first banner in team history,” said Fudge. “That would be pretty awesome to see it get raised to the rafters.”
