Rangers’ Kreider fined $5K for elbowing Canucks’ Pettersson

Elias Pettersson was left bloody after Chris Kreider landed a flying elbow to his face, and Kreider was given a game misconduct.

New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider has been fined $5,000 for elbowing Vancouver Canucks rookie Elias Pettersson on Wednesday night.

The fine is the maximum allowable under the current CBA.

Kreider received an elbowing major and a game misconduct in the second period after catching the Calder Trophy frontrunner with an elbow to the face on a hit attempt.
