Rangers sign defenceman McIlrath to 1-year contract

The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with defenceman Dylan McIlrath on a one-year contract, the team announced Friday.

McIlrath will earn $800,000 for the 2016-17 season.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native registered two goals and four points in 34 games with the Rangers in 2015-16.

The Rangers selected McIlrath 10th overall at the 2010 NHL Draft. The 24-year-old has appeared in 37 NHL games in parts of three seasons.
