Red Wings sign defenceman Gustav Lindstrom to entry-level contract

The Detroit Red Wings announced that they have signed defenceman Gustav Lindstrom to a three-year entry-level contract on Friday.

Lindstrom was drafted by the Red Wings in the second round (38th overall) of the 2017 draft and has been playing with Almtuna IS in the second-tier Swedish league.

In two seasons with Almtuna, the 19-year-old had eight goals, 15 assists and 23 points in 87 games.

The team also announced that Lindstrom will play with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League next season.
