The New York Islanders are reportedly signing defenceman Dennis Seidenberg for the remainder of the season, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Seidenberg has been skating with the team on a professional tryout deal and will have to clear waivers in order to be eligible to play in the playoffs. The German defender played in 28 games for the Islanders last season, registering five assists.

More to come.
