The Carolina Hurricanes have hired Rod Brind’Amour as their next head coach.

Brind’Amour has been a part of Carolina’s coaching staff since 2011, and played 10 seasons with the franchise as a player.

The Hurricanes had been looking for a coach ever since Bill Peters opted out of his contract on April 20.

Additionally, Don Waddell has officially been named club president and general manager after serving in that capacity on an interim basis.
