Sabres agree to deal with 2014 draft pick Jonas Johansson

The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a three-year entry-level deal with goaltender Jonas Johansson.

Originally the Sabres’ third-round pick (61st overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft, Johansson played seven games during the 2016-17 season for the Rochester Americans of the AHL, posting a 3-3-1 record with a 2.85 goal-against average.

Measuring at six-foot-four and 205 pounds, the 21-year-old played with Almtuna of Sweden’s second professional league for three seasons from 2014-17, while also making eight appearances in Sweden’s top professional league (SHL) for Brynäs from 2013-17.
