The Buffalo Sabres have locked up their 2019 first-round draft pick.
Dylan Cozens, who was selected seventh overall at June’s draft, signed a three-year, entry-level contract on Monday.
The six-foot-three, 180-pound forward had 34 goals and 50 assists in 68 games for the Lethbridge Hurricanes last season.
The Whitehorse native added eight points in seven playoff matchups.
Cozens hurt his thumb at Buffalo’s development camp at the start of July and underwent a procedure to fix the injury.
